ZackTaylor.ca can report that Miley Cyrus and Lindsay Lohan have been short-listed to voice the character of Dorothy in the upcoming John Boorman CG-animated update of The Wizard of Oz called, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz… The film is scheduled for a summer 2010 release and has been reported that it WILL NOT be a musical like the original!!
"This is probably going to sound like a kind of heresy but I always found the film of The Wizard of Oz to be very clunky…. Why is Dorothy an orphan? How did she become one? And why is she so anxious to get back to this ghastly place, Kansas?" [In my film] Toto will be given the power of speech and look for Dorothy to be a tomboy; A real Kansas farm girl!"
As well, the prequel to The Wizard of Oz, Wicked, will be turned into a movie and coming out as well in late 2010!!
