The Parents Television Council has been urging media outlets to refuse AshleyMadison.com advertising dollars… If you remember, Ashley Madison was banned by the CTV in Canada to run their ad during the Super Bowl!! When I spoke to company's CEO Noel Biderman today he said,
“Though AshleyMadison.com spends millions on advertising each year, the Super Bowl was the very first time an Ashley Madison ad has been seen on television before 9 pm. Our advertising is aimed at like-minded adults seeking fulfillment outside of their current relationships, and most certainly not children.”
And though the PTC claims to “advocate responsible entertainment to ensure that children are not constantly assaulted by sex, violence and profanity on television”, Noel feels it is hypocritical for not pulling other ads from other companies who actually target children such as the recent Guitar Hero commerical which stars Michael Phelps and Alex Rodriguez, both of whom have come under fire lately for their use of illegal substances.
